ROM EIENDOM operates in the property development and management sector, and also owns the Norwegian National Railway's stations.

The company has a degree of social responsibility through the properties it owns and focuses particularly on developing junctions and densely populated areas. Rom wanted to find a new visual profile which supported better its vision of "Better urban areas for people to meet".

Jury`s verdict

This is an innovative visual profile with a strong stylish touch, based on a strong concept which we will probably see having a lasting appeal. In this case, the designer has been inspired by a bird's eye view of town planning, with basic geometric shapes being used to symbolise buildings and urban areas. This has enabled Rom to establish ownership of these simple, well-known shapes. The design is timeless, but it also gives a good sense of history.

The strong basic concept combined with good, distinctive typography has been implemented excellently by skilful graphic designers. The profile is strong enough to work with many different communication media, as well as in 3D. The jury thinks it is exciting and bold of the customer to consistently stick to the basic concept. This is further proof that the simple approach is often the best, provided you have a strong concept.
