MAGASINET is a weekly magazine which comes every Saturday with Dagbladet. After Magasinet was launched in 1999 almost 50 Norwegian newspapers launched their own distinctive tabloid magazines.
The challenge was to revamp Magasinet to make it stand out from its competitors and restore its image as an exclusive newspaper magazine.
Jury`s verdict
Dagbladet was the first of this generation of Norwegian newspapers to launch its own Saturday magazine. Magasinet defines this genre and has highlighted with its new design that it is still clearly ahead of its rivals. The new magazine demonstrates an impressive integration between a revamped journalistic concept and excellent design work. One new feature is the fold-out page in the cover, creating a new format and medium for advertisers.
The new version of Magasinet continues to cultivate the Dagbladet brand, while also establishing its own separate identity and clear visual signature. You can easily see how successful it has been by comparing the sales figures on Saturdays against the other days of the week: Dagbladet Magasinet had over 850,000 readers every week in 2008.
