AUDHILD Viken started its textiles business by selling wall tapestries and carpets in Skei i Jølster in 1950. The company currently runs a number of souvenir shops, offering an extremely wide selection of products.

Audhild Viken wanted to find a single profile that could connect all these elements together better. It also wanted to enhance the reputation of the souvenir business, which is often regarded as cheap and tacky.

Jury`s verdict

Audhild Viken's new visual identity oozes reliability and high quality. The profile creates a pleasant ambiance, even visually enhancing the traditional souvenir troll.  The elements using the traditional tapestry patterns, the elegant monogram and the consistent use of colour and typography highlight fine craftsmanship and break with the sector's usual image in an innovative manner.

There is a fine link between the traditional and modern in the aesthetic look. The design has been successfully implemented using 3D elements in the store. The design approach has been extended to product development. An extra feature has been added to the products in the form of a separate, well-written story about each individual item. With its rebranding, Audhild Viken has given the souvenir business a new image and also boosted the promotion of Norwegian culture and craftsmanship.
