When applying for the Award for Design Excellence, you also have the possibility to apply for both the Design for All Award and the Environment Award, as well as the opportunity to win the prestigious Hounors Award for Design Excellence.

The Honours Award for Design Excellence

The Honours Award for Design Excellence is given to products that clearly distinguish themselves among those who receive the Award for Design Excellence. The award was introduced in 2000, and is the highest design award in Norway. It honours both the producer and the designer for their successful design cooperation.

The Design for All Award

The Design for All Award is presented to a company and its designer for developing a product or a solution which focuses specifically on user-friendliness and intuitive understanding, making it available to an extended user group.
The Design for All Award does not embrace aids for physically challenged persons or niche products; it concerns improved user-friendliness, intuitive understanding and user experience in respect of a product or service. Only one Design for All Award is presented each year.

The Environmental Award

The Environment Award is presented to the company and the designer that has developed a product or a solution that can demonstrate material environmentally-friendly properties in a lifecycle perspective.
This means that due regard has been taken to environmental aspects in all phases of the design process. Only one Environmental Award is presented each year.
