
Rama Gheerawo - Innovation Leader and Research Fellow, Royal College of Art Helen Hamlyn Centre
Rama Gheerawo joined the Helen Hamlyn Centre at its inception in 1999. He now leads a team of researchers on the Centre's Research Associates Programme working closely with business partners on applied inclusive design.
Clients have included Toyota, GlaxoSmithKline, TH!NK and BlackBerry and over 100 projects have been completed with businesses, voluntary sector and government organisations from across the globe. Rama's practical experience in the creative industries ranges from automotive, product design and multimedia design to design engineering. He now writes, publishes, lectures and curates exhibitions on inclusive design to audiences that include students, academics, designers, industry and government. He is committed to people-centred design practice, the development of core methodology and knowledge transfer to business. His work has gained international recognition and he is regularly called on to advise organisations.
