
Fionnuala Rogerson is director of the International Union of Architects (UIA) Work Programme on “Architecture for All” for the Western European region. A former member of the Council of the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland she is a member of its Accessibility Task Force and International Affairs Committees.
In 2003 she represented the Architects Council of Europe on the European Commission “Expert Group on Accessibility”. She has over 30 years experience in architectural practice working mainly in the areas of public housing, community facilities and urban design.
Fionnuala lectures at the National University of Ireland on the subject of Accessibility & Inclusive Design. She is also author of a research report for the National Disability Authority of Ireland on the Effectiveness of Building Regulations in achieving Accessibility to the Built Environment. She is currently working with Shaffrey Associates on a guidance document on Access to Heritage Sites for the Irish Department of the Environment, Heritage & Local Government.
