ROGALAND Konservefabrikk has supplied juice and jam under the Hervik brand since 1939, including a large part through mail order.
The new packaging was developed to boost sales to grocery stores and support the communication concept Hekta på frukt og bær (Hooked on fruit and berries).
Jury`s verdict
Hervik has managed here to create a credible, exciting and different sort of packaging which promotes communication value beyond the category. The beautiful illustrations are not only decorative, but also tell customers what the product contains. The design comes across as a breath of fresh air, with a touch of humour, making it stand out in an otherwise fairly standardised product group.
Hervik is revamping this category with its use of colour and design. It has adopted good, clear design concepts. The carton offers exciting contrasts. What is impressive is that a small company has managed, with a designer's help, to create an identity using standard packaging.
