Attractive wax

The product name is self explanatory. This is a packaging concept that solves a well-known problem. The aim of the project was to make it less sticky to wax skis, and therefore make it easier to take ski trips in wet snowy conditions.

Extending the ski season

The solution makes a well-known challenge easier for the average skier. The pre-dosed wax makes it easy to apply and store the product. The small, handy doses of wax are warmed up between the hands, or by keeping them close to the body. The wax, which is contained within a pocket, is squeezed out onto the ski and another pocket is pulled onto the thumb in order to rub out the product. Wax on a roll clearly stands out from the competition on store shelves. At the same time, the product incorporates good visual references to ski waxing in a good way.

The designer has considered production and transport in the product development. In this solution, the actual wax product itself is not changed, but the way in which it is applied, stored and experienced is new.
