News application for iPad
Lucid tailors the news in a way that considers the user’s reading habits and preferences when using the iPad. This is a product that possibly has several users within the family. The programme recognises the user, and has a range of help functions that personalise the content and layout.
Behind this application is a lot of research into our reading habits and preferences. The designer’s starting point is that most people have started to use digital platforms as news sources, usually an iPad at home. Lucid recognises faces, and can be used by different people on the same iPad. The layout can be tailored to your need to select articles by images, titles or short introductions. Lucid has a relevant timeline and ‘gossip shake’, which presents lighter news articles by using sensor technology when the user shakes the screen. These are articles that are sifted out from the serious news in the other part.
Lucid is an innovative and thorough solution, where the designer has used available technology in a smart way.
