The aim of this new post bicycle is to reduce car usage by the Norwegian postal service. The focus is on ergonomics, so that the user can move easily and without hindrance.
An electric auxiliary motor helps when cycling uphill and the box at the front has enough room for all the post.
Jury`s verdict
There are many contexts in which a bicycle can be used to carry the post instead of a car. PARAT benefits both the environment and the user, who gets to exercise more. The space at the front protects the post against wind and weather and gives the delivery person an effective and ergonomic working environment. The bicycle has a number of clever solutions that the jury has not seen before, including a seat that is a design innovation and handlebars that are integrated into the box.
The bicycle appears to have good safety and stability. The jury has no doubt that PARAT will be able to make a positive internal contribution to the Norwegian postal service and also help to strengthen the company environmental profile.
