With 3 million visitors, it can be said that the Norwegian pavilion at EXPO in Shanghai was a great success. However, Innovation Norway and the Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry wanted more people to experience the exhibition than those who were present.
They wanted to transfer the physical exhibition to a 360 degree virtual journey for the iPhone, the iPad and the web.
At EXPO 2010 in Shanghai, Norway really stood out with its “Norway. Powered by Nature.” exhibition. But if you could not come to Shanghai, Shanghai could come to you. A virtual room was created that displayed a very precise reconstruction of the Norwegian pavilion in an impressive manner.
The jury particularly applauds the innovative use of the compass feature on the application for the iPad and iPhone. The gyroscope in the mobile devices makes it possible to move around the exhibition area. This is an exciting new solution with simple, clear interaction principles of very high quality. You feel as if you are present.
