IF YOU want a video conference to work as a substitute for meetings in person, it needs to feel as close to a normal meeting as possible.
T3 is a solution which fills a whole room. It uses several screens, a complex sound system, lighting, background walls and furniture as a means of giving those attending the meeting a stronger sense of being seated around the same table.
Jury`s verdict
This is a major step on the way to making video conferences a real alternative to meetings in person. This solution really makes you feel that you are all sitting in the same room. You can hear people moving around the room. The 3D aspect is so strong that if someone stretches out their hand it makes you want to grab it.
During the first few minutes the technology is overwhelming, but after a short while you can concentrate totally on what the meeting is actually meant to be about. The problems with previous video conferencing solutions have been fully resolved. This has put Tandberg a long way ahead of its competitors. The viewing angle is good and the technical functions are well integrated. T3 comes across as a democratic, streamlined solution. The jury is extremely impressed.
