Lufttransport acquired 11 new aircraft. These needed to be filled with specially designed furnishings containing the best in medical equipment.
When you have to design a customised flying emergency room there are numerous requirements and advanced special needs to consider. However, patients and staff are the first consideration.
A complex system has been designed that takes many aspects into account. Safety, g-force, weight, weather, maintenance, service, mounting and storage of medical equipment, ergonomics, movement, lighting, comfort, stress, sterilisation, maintenance of systems and replenishment of equipment are just some of them.
Innovations such as smarter, lower and more ergonomic loading and unloading of stretchers, communication between the patient and relatives, mobile workstation modules and equipment that can be positioned and accompany the patient out of the aircraft are some of the results of an intensive, two-year design project. This is certainly a functional and aesthetic quantum leap for the industry.
