The inventor of Happy Garden wished to produce a deep fertilizer applicator for use in gardens, forests and in the agricultural industry.
Since there was no such implement available on the European market, the greatest challenge was designing an implement that was both appealing and functional for the professional, semi-professional and mass market.
The jury's verdict:
Happy Garden has a pleasant appearance. Instead of spreading fertilizer on the ground, this seemingly simple invention applies fertilizer deep to the plant’s root system. Consumption of fertilizer is thus reduced considerably, at the same time as one avoids fertilizing weeds. Furthermore, one avoids drainage and pollution of local water sources. Happy Garden even allows for the effective application of fertilizer in combination with foil mulches.
The applicator is functional and intuitive with an open design where all moving parts are visible. It can be dismantled simply without additional tools and is easy to clean. Happy Garden should find a broad customer base among everyone interested in making things grow.
