Scandinavian Appliances AS wished to develop a wine cabinet that is unique both in terms of its design and functions.

The aim was also to offer a unique and modern product, with the elegant appearance of a continental kitchen.

The jury's verdict:

Cave 55 reeks of quality. Choosing a drawer rather than a door is an exciting and interesting solution, which influences the interior and makes the whole design innovative. The smart wire-framed shelves are inspired by the egg-carton principle, making it possible to place bottles in either direction. All shelves can be pulled out with a fine damping mechanism.

The user is given a complete overview and access to each shelf, without having to move anything. A steady difference in temperatures between the upper and lower shelf means that wine can be placed where it has precisely the right temperature. The wine cabinet exudes a softly-spoken, simple sense of discretion signalising class. The glass front creates a fantastic visual impression, and fits in both in traditional and modern kitchens.
