In May 2006, a new EU Directive was issued to ensure the safety of children up to 135 cm when they travel by car. Norway introduced new rules in the same year, even though there were no child seats available to meet these new rules.
HTS Besafe saw a market opportunity, and at the same time it expanded its specifications to apply to belted seats for children weighing up to 36 kg, or around 12 years.
The jury's verdict:
BeSafe iZi Up distinguishes itself in a niche facing harsh competition. The car seat meets all safety requirements with a good margin, and is suitable for use by children aged between 3 and 12 years. A large selection of colours, applications and prints make it easy to find a design one likes.
The actual construction gives clear associations to an ordinary car seat, thus making it easier for the older segment of the target group to accept it. The seat has a very good aesthetic appearance. It distinguishes itself from its competitors by dint of a number of user benefits and practical details, which benefit both children and their parents. BeSafe iZi Up makes safety trendy in a convincing manner.
