30 years ago, pine products were among the most proper, Norwegian products you could find in the furniture industry.
VAD saw the chance to recover the honour and dignity of this type of wood. It wanted to create modern pine furniture.
Furniture producer VAD wanted to challenge the design agency Knudsen & Hindenes to use pine in a new way. The result is the Nord recliner series, which innovatively combines knot-free solid wood and moulded felt. This is an exciting and innovative material combination.
The chair has a special character and immediately recognisable aesthetics. And when you sit on it, it is bigger than you think. The contrast and play between little and large, interior and exterior, hard and soft and heavy and light makes it a surprising and appealing chair. Nord is a good example of the exciting future of pine.
