BED MANUFACTURER Jensen saw a growing market for adjustable beds, but wondered why most of them looked like hospital beds.
At Jensen Eden two patented functions have been combined to create a new product, which combines the benefits of a continental bed with adjustability. Using a memory function in the remote control, users can set their own favourite position.
Jury`s verdict
By focusing on design-driven innovation as a working practice and using this to challenge the absolute truths in this sector, Jensen Eden has set a totally new standard for adjustable beds. All the functions are hidden in the bed and are easy and intuitive to operate. The adjustability feature has been shifted downwards into the mattress so that it does not need to be lifted up and out of the frame. This takes care of the technical aspect: the user will feel the movement, but not see the technology.
The bed's shape is an improvement on the beds offered by competitors and it does not give the impression of taking up too much space like other continental mattresses. This makes the room, which is often restricted in size, seem more spacious. This solution has been well thought out, developed and implemented, which has helped boost Jensen's entire production.
