Equilibrium is a work chair for balanced movement developed by Martin Otto Fougner in collaboration with HÅG. The choice of materials is untraditional, and known ergonomic principles and anatomical factors have been taken into account using new techniques based on a balanced relationship between static and dynamic parts. The chair invites the user to make small movements by pushing against a surface, which in turn inspire larger movements. The chair looks lighter than other similar products, while the hugging back provides a sense of security. Form and function are seldom given equal priority in an office chair, but Equilibrium pays equal attention to both: design, function and ergonomics are all interrelated.
