DeLuxe is a mini refrigerator that can be hung outside a window. It is aimed at those living in bed-sits, or very small flats - urbane people with no room for a normal fridge.The cooling function is powered by a solar panel, and the heat produced during this process can be harnessed to heat a mini greenhouse with room to grow culinary plants such as kitchen herbs. As an alternative, the top panel also has room to sow a little grass lawn. The solar panels are mounted separately, allowing the user to create a graphic pattern of their own choosing. This refrigerator has a visual quality that could turn it into a positive icon for utilising solar panels as an alternative energy source.
