The House of Furulund Designed in 1998 by architects Lund & Hagem this semi-detached villa is situated in a grove of tall fir trees. The grey plaster finish combined with golden wood gives the building a distinct identity. From the outside the house appears as one unit, but the interior layout is not the same for the two units. The building is organised among the trees allowing for ample variation in the use of the outdoor space. |

The Nobel Peace CentreThe Nobel Peace Center opened its doors to the public on Saturday 11 June, 2005. Inside the historical Vestbanen, building that once housed the main station for Norway’s west-bound railway, the Nobel Peace Center has taken shape. The Nobel Peace Center combines dynamic communication and artistic interpretations. The Center presents all the laureates, arranges exhibitions, and tells the story of Alfred Nobel and all the Nobel prizes. Other facilities include a café and a shop. "This will be a living arena for conveying the ideals of the Nobel Peace Prize and focusing attention on current conflicts," says Geir Lundestad, director of the Norwegian Nobel Institute and initiator of the project to launch the Center.
