Sniff is a game that is equally well suited for sighted and non-sighted children. The basic idea involves a cuddly toy, Sniff, which contains an RFID (radio-frequency identification) reader.
Sniff communicates by means of different sounds and vibrations when it sniffs various figures equipped with RFID tags. This interaction forms the basis for several games, including a variation on the Memory game.
The Jury’s Verdict:
Sniff is a fun game for all. It is easy to understand and makes demands on children without requiring previous knowledge and without stigmatising individuals. Use of RFID technology, which transmits a signal and creates communication between the cuddly toy and the figures, makes the game innovative in its field. The availability of various tags with different sounds and functions gives the game an impressive number of variations. RFID stickers are also available. These can be hidden around the house and used in yet another game.
Sniff is simply an excellent idea that uses new and exciting technology in an innovative way. The product’s design clearly targets children, but the game can also be used by all people of all ages. It is particularly well suited as a door-opener between people when language barriers or physical limitations prevent them from communicating.
