The Design Day 2009
The Design Day is Norway’s largest design related event aimed at the business and design community. It is also the Norwegian Design Council’s festive day where we honour Norwegian companies and designers by handing out the quality brand of Award for Design Excellence.
Design provides business an increased ability for innovation and a stronger competitive edge. We spread knowledge on how design can be used within business development and innovation. We also build bridges between designers, business and public functions.
The Design Day shall inspire through leading presenters and celebrate and honour the receivers of the annual Award for Design Excellence, the Honours Award for Design Excellence and our other awards. The Design Day ends with a festive evening with good food and drinks – an opportunity for everyone to celebrate!

About the design day
The Design Day is attractive, both for guest speakers as well as participants and media. We expect a total of 350 participants for the seminar and 500 participants for the ceremony including industry leaders, designers, public/political sector as well as the press. The day is an important meeting place for designers and industry leaders, the guest speakers give inspiration and knowledge to involved participants, companies and designers receive awards and prizes for their design work and it is a leading source for the press to find news- and feature stories on speakers, companies, designers and new design projects. The Design Day, and the awards ceremony in particular, is usually covered by all the major television stations in their headline news and generates several hundred press clippings in printed and digital media throughout the year.
If there is one design event to attend in Norway - the Norwegian Design Council's Design Day is the one!
