Cradle to Cradle Design

26.05.2009 / Design Breakfast

Cradle to Cradle Design is about innovation and sustainable intelligence in products and production – from cradle to cradle – not cradle to graveyard which is typical in today’s thinking

This is a positive attitude towards human beings and nature that implies to design products and systems in a way that they continue to be raw materials for many generations. This way we can create a future where there is room for growth and consumption without having bad conscience, giving profit both environmentally, economically and socially. A presentation by Kjersti Kviseth and Tore Gulden, both partners in 2025 Design.

Cradle to Cradle Design makes it possible to create products that are commercially attractive, while also being positive for health and the environment. In addition to traditional design aspects, it is also about defining materials that are not vulnerable for health and nature.

The most important tool for this is design; of materials, products and architecture. But also design of production, logistics and material handling systems. This provides designers, product developers and architects with new and exciting challenges in creating commercially attractive products where sustainability and the environment are naturally integrated.

The  2025design, consisting of Kjersti Kviseth and Tore Gulden, are the only certified Cradle to Cradle product design company in Europe and EPEA Satelite for Scandinavia.
