Asphalt that eat pollution, windows that clean themselves, fire retardent lemon spray, transparent concrete and plastic that remembers its own shape. Nordic Innovatheque and the Norwegian Design Council welcome you to the Nordic Material Playground at DogA, Norwegian Centre for Design and Architecture on January 18th 2007. Come and learn more about innovative materials and how it may effect your business for ever!
The materials surrounding us is developing fast. In everything around us from simple gadgets to our clothes and houses we will see an increasing amount of smart materials. The impact on society from these innovative materials will be even bigger than the IT revolution.
When Charles Eames designed his Lounge Chair, he borrowed techniques from the aeronautics industry. At Bauhaus the goal of social justice through good design was only made possible by application of the innovative materials of its time. The goals of ecologically sound development in our time will only be possible by environmentally sound materials and advanced methods of production.
Nordic Material Playground will provide you with new knowledge on innovative materials and methods and how this may effect the developing of new products in your business!
Nordic Material Playground consists of four thematic sessions (playgrounds), each with its own team of experts sharing, debating and exchanging new knowledge.
The themes for each playground are:
1. Material Research
2. Material Knowledge
3. Creation
4. New Products
The finale will be an open arena where experts and participants exchange questions and answers.
