Design Day 2007

Seminar at the Design Day 2007

The Norwegian Design Council celebrated its traditional Design Day on March 15th 2007 – a day that focuses on Norwegian companies and designers that have a long-term commitment to design. Design Day is a celebration of first-class solutions that demonstrate the ability of Norwegian companies and designers to develop profitable products and services.

The idea behind the Design Day is to inspire industry leaders, designers and others who are interested in design in a business and innovation perspective.

Design Day 2007 consisted of a seminar, an award ceremony and a celebration party. At this year’s seminar, we were proud to present as guest speakers professor Roberto Verganti, Professor of innovation technology in Milan, Verena Kloos, President, DesignworksUSA, BMW Group, Bård Eker, entrepreneur, business partner and industrial designer in several successful enterprises, and Sweet Protection, who received the Honours Award for Design Excellence in 2005.

At the award ceremony we handed out the Award for Design Excellence, the Classic Award for Design Excellence, the International Design Award, Young Talents Award and the Honours Award for Design Excellence. The level of achievement of the prize winners this year is higher than ever, and we were proud to celebrate these accomplished companies and designers.

After the award ceremony there was a final celebration consisting of good food, delightful drinks and pleasant company.
